It took place around 5 p.m., Monday, May 30, in Windham County in the town of Thompson near the Quaddick Reservoir.
The horrific crash, the second in Connecticut over the holiday weekend to kill four, took place at Quaddick Town Farm Road near Taylor Road when the driver of a 2017 Honda Civic attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control, said the Connecticut State Police.

After losing control, the car, driven by 18-year-old Johan Santana, of Providence, Rhode Island, traveled off the right side of a road and slammed into a tree, state police said.
Santana was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
Also killed were passengers Jaslin Perez, age 21, of Providence, Rhode Island; Eric Perez, age 21, hometown unknown, and Lixandra Almonte Terrero, age 21, of Providence, Rhode Island, police said.
A fifth passenger, 22-year-old Alfonso Lopez, 21, also of Providence, Rhode Island, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, state police said.
State police said the crash remains under investigation.
